Deviled eggs are perfect for nibbles at a party, or to pack into your cool box and enjoy to a picnic. This classic recipe will allow you to great tasty deviled eggs in less than 20 minutes.
Deviled eggs - makes 12 egg halves
Ingredients for deviled eggs
- 6 eggs
- 1/4 onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 stalk celery, finely chopped
- 60ml mayonnaise
- 60ml mustard
- paprika, for garnish
- salt to taste
Instructions for making deviled eggs
- Place the eggs in a pot of cold water and bring to boil on medium heat
- Remove the pan from the heat and leave the eggs to stand in the hot water for 10 minutes
- Remove from the hot water, allow to cool and then peel from shells
- Cut the eggs in half
- Remove the yolks and place in a bowl
- Mash the yolk together with the celery, onion, mayonnaise, mustard and salt
- Stuff the yolk mixture into the egg whites
- Sprinkle with paprika
- Chill until you are ready to serve them
